Karina Goźdź i Anna Leszkiewicz to trójmiejski duet, który stworzył markę Shumik 100%. Miałam okazję spotkać się z dziewczynami w wakacje i przeprowadzić z nimi wywiad. Niestety początkowe nagranie, było nie do odtworzenia. Dlatego też efekty naszej rozmowy pokazuję dopiero dziś. Dziewczyny są bardzo pozytywnymi osobami, więc liczę, że wybaczą mi to opóźnienie.
Obie studiowałyście na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Łodzi. Co z tego okresu wspominacie najmilej?
Tam też się poznałyśmy. Spotkałyśmy wielu wspaniałych ludzi, których dobra energia napędzała nas do dalszej pracy. Wciąż utrzymujemy z nimi kontakt.
Dlaczego postanowiłyście działać w duecie?
Tworząc razem mamy możliwość wymiany zdań. Mamy podobne zainteresowania, a praca w duecie daje nam więcej fanu. Jedna nakręca drugą.
Skąd nazwa Shumik 100%?
Kiedyś pracowałyśmy w jednym zespole w pewnej firmie. To było 3 lata temu. Stworzyłyśmy projekt połączenia swetra z lateksem. Następnie musiałyśmy nazwać model. Ania nigdy tego nie lubiła, dlatego wymyślała różne śmieszne nazwy jak: Kazik, Kiełbasa. Pewnego razu wpadła na „Shumik”. Jednak samo słowo nie było śmieszne, dopóki nie zobaczyłyśmy gotowego modelu. Wszyscy wokół stwierdzili, że jesteśmy obłąkane, a on zwyczajnie nie wyszedł. Każdy inaczej interpretuje rysunek i dokumentację. To był tak zabawny projekt, że potem długo Shumik kojarzył się nam z czymś pojechanym i śmiesznym. Kiedy rok temu spotkałyśmy się na imprezie, znów padło hasło Shumik: szum- morze, szum- impreza. Tak właśnie to słowo kojarzyli nasi znajomi. Jednak trzeba było dodać coś jeszcze. Tak więc powstał Shumik 100%.
A co z logiem?
To długa historia. Pewnego sobotniego dnia poszłyśmy na Monciak na śniadanie. Był to środek lata. Przechadzamy się , rozmawiając o dalszych planach i koncepcjach, aż nagle widzimy świętego Mikołaja. Tak naprawdę był to Krasnolud, który zbiera na Monciaku pieniądze od przechodniów. Podszedł do nas i zapytał, co robimy w życiu. Karolina odpowiedziała: Kapelusze! Na to on: To się świetnie składa, bo ja właśnie potrzebuję jednego. Po czym dodaje: Zmierzcie mi wymiary głowy. Nie miałyśmy przy sobie miary, więc użyłyśmy nitki. Tak powstał nasz pierwszy kapelusz z zakrzywionym czubkiem (taki jaki widnieje na logo firmy). Umówiłyśmy się z Krasnoludem w tym samym miejscu, by odebrał nową czapeczkę. Niestety się nie pojawił.
Można więc powiedzieć, że Krasnolud był Waszą pierwszą inspiracją albo ujmując to ściślej- pierwszym, lecz niedoszłym klientem. Co jeszcze Was inspiruje?
Przede wszystkim ludzie, nasi znajomi, otoczenie. Robiąc kolejne rzeczy myślimy o nich. Oni są pierwszymi odbiorcami, którzy oceniają nasze twory.
A oprócz przyjaciół, kto kupuje Wasze projekty?
Klienci są bardzo różni. Jakiś czas temu odezwała się do nas 70-letnia pisarka. Opowiedziała nam wspaniałą historię swojego życia. Brała ślub z mężczyzną, z którym spotykała się będąc nastolatką. Przyjechał do niej po latach z bukietem róż i się oświadczył. Poprosiła, byśmy z tej okazji stworzyły dla niej kapelusz.
Czy mogłybyście opisać proces powstania danej rzeczy? Czy tylko projektujecie i szyje to potem ktoś inny? Czy też całą pracę wykonujecie samodzielnie?
Jeśli chodzi o nakrycia głowy robimy je w całości samodzielnie. Z ubraniami jest trochę inaczej. Korzystamy z pomocy krawcowej.
Dlaczego postanowiłyście tworzyć właśnie nakrycia głowy? Nie buty, torebki, ubrania….
Kiedy szyjesz kapelusz, szybko możesz zobaczyć efekt. Nakładasz go, po czym tworzysz kompozycję. Podobnie jest z rzeźbą, która jest namacalna.
Jak widzicie siebie i swoją działalność za 5- 10 lat? Czy macie jakieś konkretne plany, marzenia?
Chcemy się rozwijać, dalej robić nakrycia głowy, podążać w tym samym kierunku co teraz. W naszych marzeniach jest też miejsce na wielką pracownię, z półką pełną kapeluszy i poranną kawą przed rozpoczęciem każdego dnia.
